Merry Christmas, Emilee & Family!

Ivee applied to the Earls Fam Foundation’s Annual Christmas Project on behalf of her sister, Emilee.

Emilee met Matt when she was 17 years old and quickly fell in love. When Matt enlisted in the Army, they married and Emilee easily transitioned into the role of a military wife. In the four years Matt spent in the Army uniform, Emilee supported him, dropping out of high school to do so. During this time, the couple welcomed Finlee, who was born at only 3 pounds!

After an injury and honorable discharge, Matt was excited to apply to be a policeman and continue to serve and support his family. However, in the midst of the coronavirus and civil unrest, he was unable to secure a job and became very depressed. He committed suicide on July 4th, leaving Emilee and little Finlee with nothing.

Despite the deep pain of losing the love of her life, Emilee is striving to continue to provide for her daughter while working towards her GED. Her sister Ivee calls her the “strongest person I know.” Despite her courageous attitude and devotion to her daughter, Ivee saw that Emilee was not going to be able to provide any type of Christmas celebration for little Finlee.

That is when the Earls Fam Foundation stepped in, selecting Emilee and Finlee as a part of the Foundation’s Annual Christmas Project. The Earls Fam Community members and the foundation joined together to send the sweet family clothing and toys for Finlee with a few special items for Emilee as well. The Foundation also provided gift cards to lift some of the family's burden, ease Emilee’s financial stress and allow her to focus on healing, remembering Matt and her caring for Finlee.

Thank you to all who made this Christmas possible and for your prayers of support and healing as Emilee and little Finlee continue to love God, love people, make a difference, and be thankful, always, in every circumstance.
