Happy Christmas, Alana & Family!

In the last three years, Alana, her husband Wayne and their three young children have been flooded out of their Texas home twice, losing almost everything each time. In late August, 2017, Hurricane Harvey devastated their home, requiring the family of five to live in a camper trailer in their driveway for almost seven months. One year later, after an unrelated but very stressful bout of health concerns, on their daughter’s birthday, Tropical Storm Imelda again devastated the family home. Alana remembers waking, in the middle of the night, when rain water began to pour into her home. In that moment, she pleaded with God, not for the possible loss of any material thing, but for the safety and sanity of her children. Four feet of water filled the home and the family was again displaced and very discouraged.

Alana and her family are currently living with family, as their home is again in need of serious repair and most of their possessions and furnishings in ruins. Yet, now they are smiling, and the children no longer have anxiety when it rains. Alana and Wayne say it has not been easy… there have been many sleepless nights, what seem like unanswered prayers, and constant worries. However, the family has seen how God always provides. While they miss the normalcy and safety they felt in their home, not to mention having their own things, they are encouraged by God’s continual presence, even in the rain.

Alana loves watching the Earls Fam and has been following the family for years. She is grateful for their positive outlook, which has cheered her on throughout this trying time. The Earls Fam Foundation selected Wayne, Alana, and their family as a part of the Foundation’s Christmas Project. The Earls Fam Community members and the foundation joined together to send the family furnishings, clothing, and household items, giving them a Christmas to remember and blessing them with much needed supplies. The children also received books and games while Alana and Wayne received gifts cards to further their stretched budget.

Alana shares that her whole family is humbled and grateful to be a part of this Christmas blessing, as sees this experience as a gift from God. Thank you to all who made this Christmas miracle possible! May we all strive to love God, love people, make a difference and be thankful, in every season!
